Senior Design & Proposal Engineer Marine & Offshore  –  32-40 hours –  intermediate/higher vocational education

Eekels | TBI is seeking a Senior Design & Proposal Engineer to join the Business Unit Marine & Offshore. In this role, you will play a key part in the quotation process for electrical installations and systems for vessels, contributing to a diverse range of projects within the dynamic maritime industry.

As a Senior Design & Proposal Engineer, you will join the lean Design & Proposal team and have a significant impact in the inquiry phase. You will analyze customer needs and contribute to the development of functional concept designs, specifications, calculations, and quotations based on system effectiveness and sustainability. Once an order is confirmed, you oversee the seamless transition of the case file to the project team.

What is expected of you?

• The technical backbone behind the sales team, responsible for commercial negotiations with the customer;
• Maintaining contacts and discussing inquiries with the customer to provide the most suitable quotation;
• Translating customer requirements into a preliminary design, which forms the basis for developing and compiling technical specifications, budgets, and proposals;
• Providing essential technical input to the sales process, supporting the sales team in selling complete installations and complex technical systems and products;
• Determining in consultation with the Manager Design & Proposal, the stategy to offer on time and with the desired technical accuracy;
• Responsible for calculating a reliable cost price substantiated in a comprehensive case file;
• Selecting suppliers and subcontractors and collaborate closely with internal teams;
• Initiating improvement proposals (process enhancements, standard calculations, new calculation tools) as necessary, to strengthen Eekels' competitive position.

Do you recognize yourself in this profile?

• You have a higher professional education (HBO) work and intellectual level;
• Experience in electrical engineering or education in the field of electrical engineering is preferred;
• Experience in the field of energy transition is preferred;
• Experience with systems in the maritime sector is preferred;
• With over 5 years of experience as an engineer, you can work independently after a brief introduction period;
• A good spoken and written command of Dutch and English.
